  Introductory Rate Definition
Introductory Rate Also called a teaser rate, this is the interest rate that you will pay at the beginning of your adjustable-rate mortgage. This rate will stay fixed for a set period of time, usually for one year, and will then adjust according to the index that your lender uses in addition to the margin that they add.
